The Immersion Assembly

The 5th of May school had started again. A new term & the topic was “I like to move it, move it” Once everyone had gotten into the hall Mr. Burt had started the korero. He had shown a toy taxi, he said, “We are going to see how many balloons can lift this.” It took exactly 16 balloons just to lift a little thing. We then had watched Team One, Two, Three, Four, & Five.

Team One had a movie showing them going to the zoo. It was amazing about going to the zoo to see all the animals.

Once Team One had finished, Mr Burt had introduced Team Two which was about things that could fly and how they work. The video had shown hot air balloons all over the sky & land.

Team Three was about colors and how they reflect and all come together to form rainbows it was my favorite one because we were told how rainbows were formed and which colors paired with others.

Team Four was not really a video about them performing things but instead it was more of a video about  what displacing water and buoyancy is. After it had finished they went on stage a did a little quiz about buoyancy and displacing.

Last was Team 5, It was about Sounds. We had watched a video of our Team 5 teachers playing instruments, Once it had ended they had performed in front of the school playing their instruments.

I was in Team 5 so this term we are learning about sound and how it works, but not only how music comes from the music we can play from computers, but more of sound barriers and when sound can’t be heard or when it can. Its quite a cool opportunity to learn about sound and how it all works instead of doing T.P.E.W. every term.
