Gaelic Football
Gaelic Football is a game made up of 15 people, on a rectangular grass pitched field. The objective of the game is to score points by passing the ball through the other’s goal. The Positions are quite similar to soccer, which is a Goalkeeper, Six backs, Two midfielders, Six Forwards, with a variable number of subs.
This game is most popular in Ireland, infact in 2011 the All-Ireland Senior Championship Finals were held in Croke Park, Dublin, which drew an attendance over 80,000. The nicknames for the game are, Caid, Football, and Gaelic.
Apart from Ireland, football is mainly played played amongst members of the Irish Diaspora. In 1887 that was when the first ever game had been played. The game does involve contact, along with it being a single-gender game. It was also a former Olympic Game.

The Moon La Luna
We had to write two separate paragraphs describing the opening scene for the animation La Luna. Here is a link to see the movie, La Luna.
Which one do you like the best?
Which one do you like the best?
One calm night, the sky was covered in stars. They glistened, reflecting off the ocean water. The moon made an ombre effect in the dark sky. An old man, buff boat rower, and an innocent child, gently rowed along in a dingy.
A buff man rowed gentle strokes. Holding the oars still he gradually came to a halt and pulled the oars in. An innocent-faced boy peered over the gunnels and stared at his reflection. Reaching down, touching the calm smooth water, his reflection rippled away. The moon had climbed slowly to the top of the night sky. The boy glanced at it, while being handed an anchor. Unexpectedly the buff man pulled a ladder out for the kid to climb the moon.

Conclusion
|
Kabbadi is a sport like capture the flag and tackle rugby. You need to tag a defender and run back through the gate in the middle of the rectangular field to get a point. But the defenders are trying to tackle you to stop you from getting past the gate in time.
It developed 4000 years ago in India. In Sanskrit to English Kabaddi means holding hands. Its a contact sport because people try to tackle you after you tag them so that you can’t get past the gate. Originally you had to take a big breath and say “Kabaddi kabaddi kabaddi” until you ran out of breath. Now you have 30 seconds to run out tag someone and run back through the gate.
14 people or 2 teams of 7 are needed to play kabaddi 4 as defenders and 3 as raiders. The defenders need to tackle the raider from the other team after the raider tags one of them. The raider needs to tag a defender and get back through the gate within 30 seconds, but the defenders are trying to tackle you.
Kabbadi is a fun game that has got a world cup named after it.
The Wave - Life Guard Perspective
The Life Guard saw a huge wave towering the kid and ran to the shore, his feet almost burning from the hot sand. He ran from his tower to the sea, bolting it down to aid the kid but he was too slow. Paul down on the mat of the ocean. 45 seconds later everyone thought he would be good as dead. But then a small head emerged. “Help Him Quick!” the lifeguard had yelled, feeling relieved he threw a towel over Paul to keep him warm.
Tim Vine "Hoover Joke"
I decided to sell my Hoover ... well it was just collecting dust.
Quote by Tim Vine winner of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His night vision goggles were definitely a total rip off and at the end... he remembers he doesn't have a wife. His other jokes were as funny as the rest. "Excuse me sir do you happen to have llama?" He asked the someone in the audience. "Don't worry I ask everyone in that seat if they have a llama.

Ki-O-Rahi Comic 1
This is what I had to make a comic about when illustrating a scene. It was when a wizard had brought the sister's sun which made everything burn really hot. Here is what the writing is: Ti Rahi’s abductors, however, eventually became aware of Rahi’s approaching presence. The tohunga (wizard, priest) of their tribe cast another spell, which caused a hot scorching sun to appear in the sky. This sun was the sister of Ra, the regular sun. Immediately the green luscious forest dried up in the heat, and its brown withered leaves fell like snow onto the once green forest floor. Next a strong wind gusted, blowing away the dried remains of the forest, leaving nothing in its wake but a vast sandy desert.

Rimu's Annoying Friend
Rimu heard a voice yelling, “Rimu, Rimu!”. He heard something hitting the window. He rolled over trying to block the noise. He still felt sleepy. He couldn’t figure out why he could hear his name. “It can’t be hail, not in the middle of summer anyway” Rimu thought.
He sat up, and looked around. It was early dawn. He could just make out a silhouette, which leant over and wrapped again, louder this time, as if it were to break the window. “Rimu! Hey Rimu! You deadhead. Wake up already!”
Rimu groaned. “Ollie! Leave me be.” He wished it was hail.

Possum Poles (Algebra Question)
This is what one of my questions for Possum Poles (Algebra),The character Peta had done in 9 minutes to get to 18 metres and 20 metres would me 10 minutes.
The table has 2 sides, Metres, & Minutes. The minutes only go up to 9 minutes, and the metres only go up to 18 metres but it would Peta 9 minutes & 50 seconds to make it to 20 metres.

Ki-O-Rahi Description
We had to see if we could think of interesting ways to make a simple sentence complex. Here are my sentences.
The player hit te tupu.
The player hit te tupu.
The player hit the te tupu with a powerful thrust which shot right past the defender.
The ball whizzed by the defender and ricocheted off the te tupu.
The player made a powerful lob that hit the top of The te tupu.
We then wrote a descriptive paragraph.
We then wrote a descriptive paragraph.
The player ran around the circle and tagged 3 of the thin poles. He then hit the te tupu with a powerful thrust which shot right past the defender. It ricocheted off into his hands again. He made a pass to someone close to one of the skinny poles, and he tagged it. He made a big lob back to the person in the center, who hit te tupu. “Its the winning point!” the whole crowd yelled.

Diving Description
These are some Diving Description, that we had to make
As the diver balanced the crowd died down, she made her dive and successfully sliced through the water.
As the diver balanced she was as stiff as a stick, the crowd had watched with great anticipations that she would hopefully be successful.
As the diver balanced the crowd had stopped cheering, so that the diver could focus and make a successful dive.
Term 3 Immersion Assembly
As Class 4 walked into the hall, we saw 2 sets of drums on the stage, there were wooden drums that was the cook islands, while Sergeant Brent had a drum kit.
Sergeant Brent played his drum kit first. He played a cool beat until he picked a speed and away he went, noise being faster and louder. "He had a great beat I actually think I enjoyed it" I had said to myself.
When The Cook Islands play their drums it was cool. These were much faster and much more louder than Sergeant Brent’s drum kit. But Sergeant Brent's drum kit had a great beat then the Cook island drummers.
Now Sergeant Brent and the Cook island drummers played together. But all I could hear was the Cook Island drum really faster than Sergeant Brent, he started moving two drums to the Cook islands side, Sergeant had started doing some goofy dancing.
We had then had them drum us out back to class, "It was good, I enjoyed the drumming part" I said to Brodie, one of my friends.

Ki-O-Rahi
Ki-O-Rahi is a ball game traditionally played by the Maori’s, Rahi and the enemy tribe. The ball is an original wooden/flax ball named the “Ki”. The Te Tupu is the rock that Rahi was trapped on. Ara represents the pathway of silver ferns, and the pou are the 7 stars of Matariki.
Things that represent Ki-O-Rahi are from the legend of Rahi and the Patupaiarehe, the game tells Rahi’s wife, Te Ara, who has been abducted by an enemy tribe, while the abduction a Tohunga (wizard or priest), had casted a spell on the forest to become dense and impenetrable, so Rahi had built a kite and crafted a few flax bags to carry some Moa eggs, for nourishment during his journey.
When he was preparing god of the wind, Tawhirimatea blew Rahi and the kite high in the sky. While on the ground Te Ara had been secretly folding silver ferns for Rahi to find. They had noticed Rahi’s presence which the Tohunga had casted another spell which caused an extreme sun to come into play, it was the sister of Ra, the regular sun. The green forest quickly became a wasteland, beautiful to an ugly mess, a strong wind blew all the remaining leaves on ground (along with the silver ferns).
Anyway long story short Rahi had rescued Te Ara from the enemy tribe in a mountain that became unstable, where everyone was forced to evacuate, everyone but the Tohunga had escape where he went flying up with the mountain into the heavens where he still causes trouble. Rahi thought he needed peace, so he decided to make a game named Ki-O-Rahi.
And that is how the game was made from the legend Rahi.
Kahurangi
"Kia ora everyone," said Aroha as we all got a fright. We had just arrived at this Kapa Haka performance in the hall. There were 5 people, another guys one name Lucky. He was humorous. When they were doing really cool dances the 5 of them had strong powerful voices.
After they had finished doing the dance they picked 2 kids and 1 teacher from our school. Their names were Auri, Korobeau and Mr Goodwin. They had to try copy the moves the man with the stick was doing. They were all funny because all of them did it wrong. When the man and the lady were performing they had beautiful perfectly pitched harmony which nearly made me cry.
Now Lucky and Aroha started doing a really loud hake. Lucky was creeping some of us out because he does really scary pukanas and sometimes they did funny facial expressions. Everybody was giggling because Lucky was making googly eyes and he started whacking people with his Maori stick and said ‘’ Hey why are you laughing!!!’’.
We eventually had gotten out noticing we had to go for a run I moaned for a while. “Well now we are going for a run, man my back was hurting when sitting down” I had said to Brodie who hadn't replied.

Diving Writing
Diving has being in the Olympics since 1904 and that is 110 years ago. Diving was named one of the most popular sport with spectators. In the Olympics there is no 1m high diving board, just a 3m springboard and a 10m platform
For the points the dive gets judged 3 marks for takeoff, 3 for flight and 3 for entry, there is 1 point left for the judges to give them more flexibility. Extra height is extra points and the points are multiplied by a difficulty factor.
The judges judge by how well you jump and how well you enter the water. You can get points for minimal splashes and the amount of rotations and somersaults. When some of the competitors enter the water they enter on a slight angle and end up with quite a big splash. The competitor with the highest points is the winner of the competition.
The judges won’t only look for people who are great divers but also they are looking for people with height, rotations, somersaults, & the entry. There are two different heights, which is 3m and 10m, which means that 3m’s is on a springboard, while
